OysterQ

28 million Nordic accounts. The forty that matter to your next pitch.

Market intelligence built from Norwegian and Swedish company accounts: figures you can put in front of a board or an investor, a way to track the market your portfolio sits in, and — for the Norwegian market — a deep specialism in auditing, accounting and the legal profession that exists nowhere else.

What it does

Four specialised areas.

Each draws on its own sources. The Market Intelligence module reads filed company accounts; the auditor, accountant and legal modules add the registers and assignment histories that describe who works for whom, and how that changes.

Market Intelligence

Define the market you actually compete in — in Norway or in Sweden — then examine it as closely as you would examine one company.

  • Build peer groups from the bottom up, and detect the anomalies that would distort them
  • Track market development in detail, year by year
  • Deep financial review of that market against any benchmark company

Auditors

The Norwegian audit market as it moves: who holds which clients, where the work is going, and which companies are about to need an auditor.

  • Market share development and client counts
  • Auditor–client dynamics over time, and industry trends
  • Client prospect lists from forecasts and your own target areas

Accountants

The same portfolio view for Norwegian accounting firms: who serves whom, how that has changed, and where a practice is growing.

  • Client relationships and their history
  • Movements between accounting firms
  • Prospects that match a practice’s existing book

Lawyers

The Norwegian legal market: law firms’ own filed accounts, and the lawyer register’s record of who is registered where — advokater, trainees and the other licence types.

  • A market overview for law firms: revenue, margins and the largest firms
  • Registered lawyers and trainees per firm, and moves between firms day by day
  • Firm pages with accounts, ownership, headcount and the mix of registered lawyers
How the Market Intelligence module works

Four steps, in order, because each one depends on the last.

A logical bottom-up process: define the market, satisfy yourself that it is clean, then read it. Each step builds on the one before, which is why they are laid out in this order — though nothing stops you working the way you prefer.

01

Build the peer group

Start from a company or from criteria. Filter by industry, county, revenue, employees. Add or remove companies by hand. Companies that have since closed stay in the years they traded, so history is not quietly rewritten by today’s survivors.

02

Check it for anomalies

Before you read a single chart, OysterQ flags what would distort it: a company larger than the rest combined, a margin far outside the group, a year that breaks a company’s own pattern, a filing that looks like a unit error. Exclude them, see the effect, put them back.

03

Read the market

Revenue and earnings from 2010 (Norway) and 2015 (Sweden) to the present, cost structure, working capital, returns and capital. Every figure on a standard or group accounts basis, switched with one control. Compare the company against the rest of the market, or look at the market alone.

04

Build reports, analyses and exports for your own presentations

Work alongside your colleagues on the platform. OysterQ keeps the reports current, with data collected daily.

Built by people who know the value insight can create.

Figures are easy to come by. Value is created only when they become insight you can act on. OysterQ is built by people who have spent too many hours searching for those answers themselves — and who know what it is worth to have them in minutes.

  • 01See the market as it really is: who is growing, who is losing ground and where the profit sits.
  • 02Track the competitive landscape around your portfolio companies, and spot the opportunities early: companies changing auditor or accountant, new entrants and closures — with an alert when it happens.
  • 03Build the argument on facts. Reports and exports where every figure traces back to a filed set of accounts, ready for the boardroom or the client meeting.
The data

Where the figures come from.

Everything in OysterQ is built from public Nordic sources. No figure is estimated or adjusted by us: what you see is what the company filed.
